InBig - Individuelle Kompetenzentwicklungswege: Bildungsgangarbeit in einer dualisierten Ausbildungsvorbereitung
Overview
The InBig project started on March 1, 2012 as part of the second round of XENOS funding.
InBig is a research and development project that focuses on dualized training preparation. Both theoretical and practical realms of experience are integrated into the training preparation here. These realms of experience refer to each other and are systematically accompanied.
- The aim is to design individual competence development paths in a dualized training preparation via educational program and curriculum work. Corresponding implementation concepts are developed and evaluated.
- The use of competence development instruments is implemented in educational programs and integrated into curricular structures and didactic annual planning.
- Based on a systematic analysis, adequate learning environments are created to achieve individual goals.
- Educational programs for training preparation are being developed and restructured to address the specific individual problems of this heterogeneous group of young people. Systematic educational programs are being designed through curricular structures that offer young people a genuine second chance at training and a career.
By implementing an individual educational program, the individual support of students is systematically integrated into the educational work of vocational colleges. It thus forms the basis for work in the training preparation programs.
The InBig project is anchored in the federal program “XENOS - Integration and Diversity”. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the European Social Fund (ESF). In cooperation with the Ministry for School and Further Education of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MSW) and the Center for Vocational Education and Training (CeVet) at the University of Paderborn, it is being carried out at 17 vocational colleges in North Rhine-Westphalia between March 1, 2012 and December 31, 2014.
For more information about the vocational colleges and project partners involved in the project, please refer to the “Partners” section.
The “InBig” project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the European Social Fund as part of the federal “XENOS – Integration and Diversity” program.
The individual educational program addresses three challenges in dualized vocational training preparation, which are pursued as special focuses:
- SP A: Promoting basic skills.
- SP B: Dealing with heterogeneity.
- SP C: Integrating practical phases.
Issues of acceptance and tolerance (Cross 1) and a peer review process for educational program management (Cross 2) are included as cross-cutting topics.
Objective
The core objective of InBig is to design individual competence development paths in dual vocational training preparation via educational and curricular work and to establish them in vocational schools, as well as to develop and evaluate corresponding implementation concepts. An additional main objective is the use and implementation of competence development instruments in educational programs and their integration into curricular structures and didactic annual planning.
