The Fair Project - Konzeption, Design, Implementation und Evaluation eines Serious Games zur beruflichen Bildung

Overview

The Fair Project is an e-learning project.

The aim of the project is to design an innovative serious game that can be used in vocational training to teach business, communication theory, social and language skills, thus meeting the requirements for promoting professional skills.

The theoretical basis for the concept is the “Paderborn Vocational Education Concept (PVEC)” in its interpretation for serious games. The learning theory is based on the approach of situated learning and learning in complex learning arrangements. The learners who use the serious game are confronted with solving problems in situations that could also arise in real-life business situations. They take on the role of an employee in a company and have to design and implement the company's appearance at a trade fair abroad. Within the framework of “The Fair Project”, this is an action research approach in which, on the one hand, the didactic and technical conception and design processes are analyzed and co-designed, and on the other hand, implementation, acceptance and use are evaluated, taking into account the context variables.
