Symposium "Women. Think. Europe."

The Center for the History of Women Philosophers and Scientists at Paderborn University, in cooperation with the German Academic Women's Association EV and the Colours University Alliance, will be holding a symposium on Friday, 28 June from 3 p.m. in the main conference room of Paderborn's historic town hall on the topic of ‘Women. Think. Europe.". All interested parties are cordially invited.

About the conference

Numerous women who were famous in their time and who are neither recognised by the public nor part of our educational tradition have shaped the history of Europe. In contrast to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Immanuel Kant, women such as Luise Erxleben or Elisabeth von Böhmen-Herford are not mentioned in any curriculum. The symposium ‘Women. Thinking. Europe’ presents some of these female intellectual greats in stimulating short lectures and discusses solutions for a broader perception. Prof Dr Dorothee M. Meister, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, will moderate the event.
