In­vit­a­tion: In­ter­na­tion­al Tues­days in the Winter Semester 2022/23

After a successful series of events since the summer semester 2021, the "International Tuesdays" will take place again starting November 22, 2022 on several Tuesdays from 1 to 2 pm via Zoom.

Many areas and actors of Paderborn University are involved in the diverse internationalization activities of the university. At the International Tuesdays, all interested members of UPB can learn more about the international activities. There is room for the exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices as well as overarching networking opportunities.

The events are organized by different departments in terms of content and address different target groups:

Prof. Dr. Torsten Meier, Vice President for International Relations at UPB, will give an overview of current internationalization activities at the university on Nov. 22, including a report on the official internationalization strategy and the current status of the application as a European University Alliance.

Dr. Sigrid Behrent, Executive Director of the Center for Language Teaching (ZfS) and Dr. Pamela Heidi Douglas, ZfS, will report on Dec. 6 on results of a survey on language skills and language course needs and their language course offerings.

Nicola Weinert, International Projects and Alumni Relations Coordinator, International Relations Office, talks, as part of the "Alumni Talk Series" on Dec. 13, to Kazi Azharuddin, UPB alumnus, about his exciting professional career in Germany as an international alumnus, and gives an insight into UPB's alumni management.

On Jan. 10, 2023, Dr. Katja Simons, director of the Campus OWL liaison office in New York, and Alexandra Krebs, UPB, currently a Gerda Henkel Fellow at the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC, will provide information about international mobility during doctoral studies.

On Jan. 17, Anna Miroyan, InRegio Coordinator, International Office, will report on how international professional students can be integrated into the job market.

On Jan. 24, Jutta Deppe and Dr. Katharina König, EU Research Funding, will address the "missions" introduced as a new funding instrument in the current Framework Program for Research and Innovation – Horizon Europe.
