On Monday, April 24, a high-ranking delegation of the Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) was received by the President of Paderborn University Prof. Dr. Birgitt Riegraf. The visit of the seven-member delegation of the QUST under the leadership of the president Prof. Dr. Kezheng Chen is the first foreign trip of the university management of the QUST after the long pandemic-related break and is intended for their most important cooperation partner, Paderborn University.
Paderborn University and QUST jointly founded the Chinese-German Technical Faculty (CDTF) in 2001, which now comprises five disciplines and has already educated over 3000 motivated students both in Germany and Qingdao. A highlight of the meeting was the signing of an agreement to continue this proven and long-standing cooperation. This is also connected with an expansion of the cooperation, which includes the exchange of scientists as well as a deepened communication and steering by the CDTF partners and the colleagues involved in the cooperation.
The newly appointed and structured steering committee for the CDTF met for the first time. Particularly representatives of the University of Siegen and the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences were welcomed. They are also involved in the CDTF with study programs and will continue to shape the cooperation and the future of the CDTF together with Paderborn University and QUST.
