Train the Trainer-programme

The programme provides comprehensive training in higher education didactics and methodology to qualify as a tutor trainer (multiplier). The aim of the programme is for trained multipliers to subsequently prepare students from their faculty as tutors in subject-specific, topic-related training courses for their use in teaching. The train-the-trainer programme lasts one semester and is divided into three phases:

  • Multiplier workshops
  • Concept exchanges
  • Tutor training and practical exchange

The workshops teach university didactic skills. The focus is on the requirement to design and implement your own training course for students as tutors. You will be prepared for this in the multiplier programme and supported in the process.

Participation in the programme includes

  • Participation in workshops
  • Creating your own training course for students as tutors
  • Taking over a training course for students during the semester
  • Advertising the tutor training programme in your own subject area
  • Participation in an interim status meeting during the semester
  • Participation in a joint final meeting
  • Participation in the final programme evaluation

Throughout the programme, you will receive support from the Educational Innovations & University Didactics Office, including

  • Material on the respective workshop topics
  • Support and counselling

  • Free and comprehensive train-the-trainer qualification

  • Recognition of the training in the university didactics certificate "Professional teaching skills for the university" (16 AE in Module I, subject area "Teaching and learning")

For faculties:

  • University didactic training for students as tutors adapted to the respective teaching and learning culture of the faculty

Prerequisites for participation:

  • Teaching activity or teaching experience
  • Medium-term employment prospects at UPB (at least 1 year at the start of the programme)
  • Interest in the implementation of other educational formats
  • Enjoy teaching and working with students as tutors

Important dates:

  • Participation in the face-to-face events for multipliers (4 mandatory workshop days)
  • Take over a training course for tutors in the semester. - Date can be determined by arrangement.
  • Participation in an interim status meeting in the semester - date to be discussed.
  • Participation in a joint final meeting - date to be discussed.
