Dr Hagos Nigussie Kahssay from Mekelle University in Ethiopia has been awarded a Georg Forster Research Fellowship for experienced researchers by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and will now be conducting research at Paderborn University for two and a half years.

The CIRPROM research project ("Algorithmic foundations for circuit-based programmable matter"), led by Prof Dr Scheideler, is being funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with around 350,000 euros until 2027.
With the steadily increasing integration of artificial intelligence into everyday life, it becomes increasingly important to ask how trustworthy these technologies are. The Research Training Group for Trustworthy AI Technology ‘DataNinja’ aims to contribute to this with various projects. One project is the Real-time Configuration of Algorithms with Multi-armed Bandits (EKAmBa).

Paderborn University celebrated its traditional New Year’s reception on Sunday 21 January with the University Orchestra, an awards ceremony and around 400 guests from the worlds of science, business and politics.
