Tandem introduction

In the introductory workshop, we will work out everything that is important for a good start to tandem learning. You will discover a variety of activities and materials that will enrich your individual tandem. We will also introduce you to portfoliowork - a great way to support and accompany your autonomous learning process.

This workshop is part of the tandem course.

Participation together with a tandem partner recommended. For tandems only.

Workshop 1 (project workshop)

As a tandem learner, you would like to be able to understand your partner better, for example in conversations. How can you integrate this learning objective into a mini-project? Choose real-life topics and activities that interest you (e.g. at university, with friends... under the motto "Think global, act local"). Ideally, you will start planning your project together with your tandem partner (e.g. a short interview).
We will also discuss success criteria that you can recognise from your visible or audible (interim) results.

Participation together with your tandem partner is recommended. Especially if you need a grade or would like to work on a project without a grade.
This workshop is part of the tandem course. Only after participation in the introductory workshop.

Workshop 2 (Speaking)

In the "Speaking" workshop, you will learn about (also playful) ways to train speaking skills - preferably with a learning or tandem partner (you can of course also come alone). You can try out the methods yourself and - depending on your individual learning goal - adapt, adopt and develop your own ideas. For example, you can choose between suggestions for speaking occasions, for speech training with games or communicative strategies (e.g. to keep conversations "lively"). There are also aids for assessing your speaking skills (e.g. vocabulary, fluency, interaction...).

Workshop 3 (vocabulary)

Passive - active - creative?Vocabulary is important for all language skills: Listening, reading, speaking and writing. If you don't want to memorise vocabulary lists and try out other methods, this workshop is for you. It is more important to select vocabulary specifically so that it fits your individual context (What is relevant for me? What do I actually want to be able to do with it? Which strategies do I find motivating?) You will learn various (also playful) methods for expanding your vocabulary and can, for example, test how you can convert your passive vocabulary into active vocabulary.

Tandem finalisation

In the final tandem workshop, we will look back on your tandem experiences, which you will present to the other tandem pairs in a short presentation.
