The regular application deadline for the 2024/25 winter semester at Paderborn University ends on Saturday, 21 September. This semester, however, there is also the opportunity for last-minute prospective students to apply for admission-free degree programmes until 15 October.

For his research work in the field of computer science, Junior Professor Dr Sebastian Peitz from Paderborn University has been awarded an ERC Starting Grant worth 1.5 million euros by the European Research Council (ERC).
Middle and high school students can immerse themselves in various STEM fields of study at Paderborn University during the first week of the fall break from October 14 to 18.
Under the new name “Computer Science”, students get prepared for a successful start of their careers as computer scientists. The language of the programme has also been standardized, meaning that the Master's degree course is now officially taught in English. The course will start under the new name in the winter semester 2024/25 and applications can be submitted until September 21.

Many researchers already make use of the opportunities to publish research results in freely accessible public publication options. However, current survey results from the OASE research project show that many existing offers are not yet well known. The project examines the existing open access culture and identifies further needs.
The aim is to offer performance-orientated pupils from the 8th grade onwards unique perspectives for career and study orientation. The application period runs from 26 August to 4 October.
The World Philosophy Congress recently took place in Rome with the theme "Philosophy across Boundaries". The internationally recognised Elisabeth of Bohemia Prize was awarded as part of the event. Prof Dr Marie Pauline Eboh and Prof Dr Concha Roldán Panadero are this year's prizewinners.
