The Startchancen programme, which is funded by the federal and state governments to the tune of 20 billion euros over ten years and was launched on 1 August, aims to take a pioneering approach to decouple educational success from social background and ensure greater equality of opportunity.

The series of events, which starts on Thursday, 9 October, offers teachers and students the opportunity to deal with teaching-related topics in short workshops
Since this winter semester 2024/25, Paderborn University has been providing student ID cards in digital form via the UPB app. The ID card function for staff is currently still in the test phase, but activation is also planned for the near future.

Prof Dr Norbert Otto Eke, researcher at Paderborn University, has been elected Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the NRW state government for the award of the title ‘Professor’ until the end of March 2026.

The regular application deadline for the 2024/25 winter semester at Paderborn University ends on Saturday, 21 September. This semester, however, there is also the opportunity for last-minute prospective students to apply for admission-free degree programmes until 15 October.
