Diversity in research
Paderborn University considers the inclusion of diversity to be an important factor for excellent research. It is committed to a non-discriminatory research environment and a diversity of perspectives in research. Diversity as a research topic is anchored in various research projects at the university. A particular focus is on the topics of inclusion, interreligiosity and technology.
In this context, the specialist group "Technology and Diversity" of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies should be highlighted as part of the research profile. Another special focus is inclusion-related research and qualification in the teacher training programme. In order to further sharpen the academic profile in this field, a total of 17 professorships with a focus on "Special Education" and "Inclusion" in various disciplines as well as the "Teaching Qualification for Special Needs Education" course and the "Dealing with Heterogeneity" profile area in the teacher training programme at Paderborn University were established as a result of participation in the Inclusion Priority Programme of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
