Equal opportunities measures in individual support
The German Research Foundation has various equal opportunities measures in its programmes for individual funding (material grants, individual positions, research fellowships), both in the application phase and in the project implementation phase:
- Consideration of the individual circumstances of applicants when assessing their scientific performance
- Compensation for the absence or part-time work of the project leader/sub-project leader for family reasons (e.g. maternity leave, parental leave, caring for relatives in need of care)
- Compensation for the absence or part-time work of staff employed in the project due to the legal provisions on maternity protection or parental leave
Applicants have the option of specifying individual circumstances that will be taken into account when assessing, evaluating and deciding on an application.
For the project implementation phase, there is the option to apply for and use (additional) funds for equal opportunities measures in certain situations (e.g. absence of academic staff).
