Leonie a.k.a. Frau Löwenherz has become an integral part of the German LGBTQIA+ community on social media. She always remains authentic, loud and courageous. This gives queer journalism a voice.

Event type: Author reading

Date: 08th of March 2024 (6 pm)

Speaker: Crimson K.
Location: City Library Paderborn (Am Rothoborn 1, 33098 Paderborn)

Crimson K., born in Berlin in 2000, self-published her debut novel 'Brown Eyed' in 2023. The author writes contemporary romance novels with BiPOC characters to give these people more attention in the world of literature.

Brown Eyed is a love story between two boys, Jayson Young and Levi Phan. For both of them, it is the first time they have fallen in love with a boy. With this book, the author wants to remind us that homosexuality does not only occur in one nationality.
The reading will be accompanied by a discussion between the author Crimson K. and Charlotte Kaiser from the state project blick*. One of the topics will be the importance of the visibility of multiple nationalities. What constitutes role models (even in adolescence)? Which role models do we wish we had when we were growing up? Which ones do we still wish for, and have some wishes perhaps already been fulfilled?

Event type: Interactive online lecture with Q&A on the topic of "Gender diversity at the university - challenges & opportunities"

Date: 06th of February 2024 (04.30 pm)

Speaker: Né Fink
Location: digital

Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89612071689?pwd=T0JzSDJ4eTd4a1YrTm1hNHVXSjVXdz09
Meeting-ID: 896 1207 1689
Kenncode: 648196

Né Fink is a systemic counsellor and trainer for gender diversity. Dey ( pronoun) has been a volunteer trans* counsellor at Trans* Beratung Göttingen since 2016, has a Master's degree in Gender & Ethnicity and coordinated the pilot project: "Support for trans* students" at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.

In the online lecture offered, terms that often appear in connection with gender diversity, such as inter*, trans*, diverse and abinary, are explained in an easily understandable way. What experiences do trans* and abinary people actually have in the academic context? What challenges and opportunities arise from gender diversity at university? In addition to these questions, the lecture will also look at which structural conditions reinforce or mitigate discrimination against trans* and abinary students and how a natural, competent and professional approach can be achieved in personal encounters.
