Submitting your thesis by uploading it to PAUL is an optional service. Submission in paper form remains possible.

Formal and technical requirements:
Electronic submission of the thesis is only possible via the upload (https://imt.uni-paderborn.de/uni-mail) in PAUL.
The thesis should be submitted in the format pdf/a (PDF/A is a file format for long-term archiving of digital documents). Files can be submitted with a maximum size of 45 MBcan be submitted.
The submission date is the date the file is uploaded to PAUL! In the event of early submission, the ZPS must be informed by means of an application under "Studies > Applications > ZPS: Early submission of the thesis must be informed. Only the ZPS can check and confirm whether the thesis has been submitted in due form and time.
Submission in due form and time is documented in PAUL. You can view this under "My examinations" below the thesis including the submission date ("Submitted on:" + submission date).
The submission of the thesis via upload is an optional offer, a submission in paper form is still possible as an alternative in accordance with the regulations in § 10 of the UPB's regulations for online examinations, if the corresponding examination regulations provide for this. Other formal requirements from the examination regulations naturally continue to apply.
Electronic submission replaces submission in paper form.
