Bonification: Improved chances of admission by passing an art/music Aptitude test

If you are applying to study to become a teacher in the subject area of Art or Music and have passed the relevant Aptitude test, you may, under certain circumstances, have the opportunity to increase your chances of admission to your second chosen subject area.

You can increase your chances of admission by improving the average grade of your higher education entrance qualification by 1.0 - up to a maximum average grade of 1.0.

  • If your second desired subject area is admission-free, you do not need the bonus.
  • The bonus only applies to certain teacher training programmes (see below).
  • It is not possible to improve your average grade for a second degree programme.
  • Proof that you have passed the Aptitude test at Paderborn University must be uploaded in the application (within the application deadline).
If you have passed the Aptitude test at another university, upload the certificate of recognition of the Aptitude test you have passed - proof from other universities is not sufficient for crediting. Please contact Irina Hegel (Art) or Eckhard Wiemann (Music) for recognition of the Aptitude test you have already passed.
  • If you do not enrol for the subject area that is the basis for the grade improvement, the improvement of the average grade will not apply.
