Changing a degree programme/subject or starting further studies
As a general rule, if you would like to study a different/additional degree programme or subject, you must first submit an application via PAUL. Within the application, you have the option of indicating whether you wish to change or parallel enrolment.
The regular application and enrolment process must be carried out for this. Please also note the following information:
- Please do not create a new application account for PAUL. You can access the Application tab in your student account.
- Parallel enrolment means that you will be enrolled in a further degree programme in addition to your existing degree programme. Parallel enrolment in two degree programs with restricted admission is not permitted. In the Zwei-Fach-Bachelor and the Kultur und Gesellschaft Master degree, parallel enrolment in the same degree programme is only possible with two other subjects (4 different subjects in total).
- When changing subjects (multi-subject degree programmes), the previous subject is replaced by the desired new subject. For students on the Zwei-Fach-Bachelor degree, the change of subject will also result in a change to the current main subject examination regulations - those affected will be informed by e-mail.
- Changing your degree programme, you will automatically be de-registered from your previous degree programme. If you are currently studying a teaching degree with an additional extension subject and apply to change to another degree programme, you will also be de-registered from the extension degree programme as part of the change, as the legal requirements for the extension degree programme are no longer met after the change.
- The change/parallel enrolment can only be completed once the semester fees have been credited to the account of Paderborn University.
- Registration for courses is only possible after successful enrollment/ re-registration.
