De-registration
De-registration terminates your membership of the university and is generally possible on any date, at the earliest from the day after receipt of the application (retroactive de-registration is excluded).
You can submit the application electronically via PAUL > Studium > Anträge.
Your right to use the semester ticket or to use your student ID/study certificates for concessions expires on the day of de-registration. These documents must be destroyed after de-registration. Failure to do so will make you liable to prosecution under the German Criminal Code (StGB).
A refund of the semester ticket may be possible.
If you are already registered for examinations, please deregister from the examinations (Central Examinations Office). The examinations will otherwise be deemed to have been failed ("failed attempt").
Cancellation of a degree programme
If you are enrolled in several degree programmes at the same time, you can apply for the cancellation of degree programmes for the following semester within the re-registration period. This does not constitute de-registration, as your membership of the university remains unchanged.
You can submit the application electronically via PAUL > Studium > Anträge.
