Information for applicants
For the performance of research and teaching duties and related administrative activities, Paderborn University employs research assistants.
The prerequisite for employment as a research assistant is the successful completion of a Master’s degree, diploma, accredited Master’s degree or state examination.
Research assistants are employed pursuant to § 46 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Education Act (HG NRW) and the guidelines for the employment and remuneration of research and student assistants at Paderborn University.
Research assistants are employed for a regular working time of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 19 hours per week and
receive €15.00 gross per hour as remuneration, from 01.01.2022 € 17.00 gross per hour.
The relevant form for requesting employment of a research assistant must be submitted by the respective department wishing to recruit to the Human Resources department via the official channels.
On receipt of this form, the Human Resources department - Division 4.2 will proceed with the recruitment procedure.
Please note that the department wishing to recruit must submit requests for employment to the Human Resources department at least 6 weeks before the planned starting date.
If you are currently employed as a student assistant or as a student research assistant with bachelor degree at Paderborn University, your current employment contact will end (by termination or a cancellation agreement) on the date on which you start your new job as a research assistant. Please note that employment at Paderborn University may not be accepted or commenced until a written employment contract has been concluded. The agreements and arrangements required in this connection, in partic. with regard to the starting date, must be agreed on and co-ordinated exclusively with the Human Resources department - Division 4.2.
